Today you're going to be beginning (or, in some cases, continuing) using the Career Cruising website.
Click here to go to the website. When you arrive, you'll see this:

Login using the Username "occ" (no quotes) and the Password "orchardridge" (no quotes). You will arrive at a screen that looks like this:

If you have not already done so as part of ASC 1070, you should click on "Career Matchmaker" at the top left corner. You will see something that looks like this:

The goal of this exercise is to help you think about careers that may be of interest to you. You will answer 39 questions to begin, after which you can explore the careers suggested, or select "Answer more questions to improve my results." If you have not already done so in ASC 1070, OR if you would like to re-evaluate the exercise, spend some time looking through the selections. Click on a few that interest you and investigate further, including checking out the interviews of people presently in those jobs. If you have not already done so, print out at least three interesting job descriptions and give them to your teacher, stapled together, with your name on top. Your teacher will turn them into Ms. Lane for verification. Afterwards, you will be asked to place them in your academic binders. This will be useful in the future, and will also serve as notification to us that you have fulfilled this exercise.
Once you have completed this exercise, or if you have already done this as part of ASC 1070, click on the "schools" link at the top of the page. You will see something that looks like this:

Choose "School Selector," then follow the on-screen directions to help look at schools you might wish to transfer to following OEC. Use your Career Matchmaker results to help in this. Look around--it's actually very interesting to look at schools you may have never thought of that offer interesting programs related to your career goals. Print out information about at least five of these, preferably by visiting the school websites; staple your printouts together with your name on them, and return them to your teacher. This will be useful in the future, and will also serve as notification to us that you have fulfilled this exercise.
